about two weeks ago i was contracted out to do a cd layout for the band “her chance to dream.” their cd is called “our lips are sealed” and they were looking for an image of a girl with her lips sewn shut. it turned out to be a lot harder to accomplish than originally planned. after running out of stock photography, i had to find a model to help with the whole concept. thank god someone pulled through in the clutch and helped me out. what you’re about to see here is the progress from extremely poor photograph to a completely manipulated image to create the effect i was looking for.
seen here is our lovely model jill posing for one of many shots that comprised our photo shoot. obviously i am not a photographer, so i knew that whatever pictures i did take had to be good enough for me to be able to work with them in photoshop.

over the past couple weeks my wonderful dog max has been quite ill. without getting into specifics, it has been a rough time. through all this, i remembered that when i was a senior in high school, i chose him to be the subject of a series i was doing for my portfolio. i dug up some of these old works and took a couple quick snapshots. they’re actually not half bad, and i’m very pleased to have found them.
aesthetically speaking, there is not really much style to these pieces at all. its quite obvious that i have yet to find any sort of technique to latch on to, and to be perfectly honest, some of these mediums were totally foreign to me. that’s not what’s important though with these drawings, i’m just glad to have them.
