in the past couple months i’ve developed a real appreciation for the artistic community on flickr. as i was browsing today, i found some great photography from janusz miller. i enjoyed some of his shots so much, that i had to draw them. the illustrations don’t do the photos the justice they deserve, not to mention i added my own twists to each piece, but i still enjoyed the process of using janusz’s compositions as inspiration.
i have a passionate hatred for the pirates of the caribbean movies, however i have seen both in theaters and plan to see the third as well. why? call it an age-old battle to the finish line. who will come out victorious? who will surrender to mediocrity? my bet…not the pirates. this, of course, will not stop me from drawing awesome skeleton pirates.
i’ve been bouncing this idea around in my head for the brooklyn circus for months now, and i finally got a chance to work on it. it’s would be a dark brown leather rugged belt with white, decayed silk-screened ink running along the outside. two quick mockups show various layout ideas.
