January 10
the best way to kick off the new year is by highlighting one of the best songs from last year. actually, that’s probably a better way to end last year…either way, “colors” by between the buried and me was my favorite album of 2007 by far. check out this awesome video of blake richardson (between the buried and me’s drummer) playing along to their song “prequel to the sequel.”

December 20
the brand new winter line from casualty dropped tonight and it’s definitely great to finally see it finished and ready to ship. everyone (at casualty and at onetwentysix) worked really hard on this line and we’re all very proud of how it turned out. please check out the look book, the blog, and the store to get your hands on some of my most favorite apparel designs i’ve ever done and also a bunch of other awesome designs that i’m proud to share the stage with.
also, for those of you who read the blog regularly, you may remember that i posted progress shots of some of these pieces over the past few months. read about them here and here.

December 12
yep, i already got another. this time the wonderful jk5 hooked me up with his amazingly over-flourished script. (be sure to check out his site, he does some absolutely incredible work. you can’t miss it.)
the lettering reads “vcnc” which is the first initial of each of my parents and my two brothers. much debate, i decided to stick to black and grey again for this one. i can’t seem to settle on any colors, maybe next time. a few more photos after the jump.

just killing some time waiting for an email. i’d like to start exploring different typographic styles soon. i feel like a lot of my work is always headed in the same direction and it’s time for that to change.

this video has certainly made its rounds, but it never ceases to entertain and intrigue me. i love the ingenuity and sheer skill of this guy. truly an inspiration.

i started a new moleskine. the main reason i love these books is because i actually finish them. for some reason i cannot finish any other type of sketchbook. it might be because i lose interest in them almost immediately.

today i pretty much decided that i was going to put everything else off and try to work on some of my type design so that i would be a little more fresh going into work on monday. here are a couple exercises i worked on. i also did a canvas with paint markers, but that’s still drying, so i’ll leave that for another day.
